Business Integrity and Ethics As I studied this weeks material I was reminded of the constant need to have integrity in all aspects of business. I have really reflected on an event that is currently taking place in my life and as I have tried to think of ways around my dilemma I know that there is only one way to accomplish it and that is with straightforward honesty. I made the mistake of going into business with my brother, as his bookkeeper for his other business I should have seen the red flags and known he would not handle this new business any differently than he did his current business. I had to resign as his bookkeeper because he wanted me to book truly personal expenses as business write offs and there was no legal way to make some of them truly business expenses. I have been 2 years waiting for him to file the proper taxes on that business and give me the correct form so I could file my own taxes and he is refusing, his excuse is that my name is no loner on the busine...

Randy Pausch was a dreamer, and the reason he was able to achieve so many of his childhood dreams was because he didn’t stop. He climbed over the brick walls in his way and pushed forward. Dreaming is very vital to our success; it is what drives us forward. Dreams that mean the most to us are what help us to scale the brick walls in our way. If we don’t have a dream to follow, we don’t have anything to look forward to. My biggest childhood dream was to be a mother and stay home with my children, it is a dream I am so grateful I was able to do when they were little. A part of that dream I didn’t count on was the illness of my oldest child, a daughter. She was diagnosed with cancer 2 weeks before her 5 th birthday. My other children were 3 and 1. As the new semester begins we have been asked to keep a blog post of the things we are learning in BUS 110 Introduction to Entrepreneurship. Owning a business has always interested me. I have done such things as multilevel marketing with scrapbooking companies, makeup companies and essential oils. Photography has always interested me and in 2004 I started Memories by Melissa Photography. I photographed everything from families to weddings to dance schools and even had several contracts for local school districts to do all of their photography. In 2017 I decided to end doing photography full time, there were several factors that came into play in my reasons to stop but the biggest one was the saturation of the market with amateur photographers. I wasn't willing to lower my prices and I couldn't compete with the cheap photographers.
